What makes a good portrait for a cutout?
Start with a sharp image, even lighting, and a visible outline around the person. Hair, glasses, and backgrounds close in color to clothing need extra attention.
When should I use a transparent background?
Use a transparent PNG when you want to place the portrait on a slide, graphic, or another background. The checkerboard represents transparency; it is not part of the downloaded image.
Do my photos leave my device?
No. Image processing happens in your browser. The model downloads from this site on first use. Your selected photo is not sent to a server, and Clearcut does not save it between visits.
What are the limits?
This tool is for portraits, not product photos or pets. Fine hair, translucent fabric and busy backgrounds can need manual cleanup. Photos are reduced to a maximum of 2,048 pixels on their longest side. Large images over 40 megapixels are not supported. There are no live ads currently.
